With only a limited knowledge of the scope and scale and the human misery caused as a result of the global clergy abuse crisis, its continuing cover-up by the church and obviously by its practitioners, its friends and its supporters.

and its continuing failure to address openly the issue of the impact on society as a whole when society must repeatedly turn a blind eye to the failures of the the Catholic church and the failure of Catholics to enact genuine change into a system that we are all aware is at serious odds with today's ideals and standards. Australia stands out to the rest of the world through the complicity of governments and the failure of the political and legal systems to regulate equally on behalf of those abused directly by clergy or those whose human rights are trodden on through the unstated requirement of paying abeyance to the Catholic church and therefore its practice of covering up the crimes of their fellow Catholics. The failures this single issue forces onto the rest of society may well find a place in Australia's history as the most horrendous and the most socially destructive period of our existence.
Understand that in this environment where the actions of governments and policing have conspired to provide some of the weakest laws in the world in regards sexual crimes and in particular sexual crimes against children.Not only has this social aberration conspired to fail each and every victim of sexual crime in the country it has gone on to cause systemic failure in our health and community services through the poxed practice of trading and dealing with Catholic structures when our government has the means to enforce rigid compliance to allow for the first time in history a real opportunity to advance democracy for the people of Australia.
